THE Party-list Coalition Foundation Inc. (PCFI) yesterday declared its full support for the 11 senatorial candidates of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, the administration’s official slate for the 2025 midterm elections.

This move came after a luncheon meeting of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, whose party Lakas-CMD has also committed to delivering the victory of all 11 candidates, with party-list lawmakers hosted by PCFI on Tuesday, attended by at least 40 members.

Talino at Galing ng Pinoy (TGP) Party-list Rep. Jose “Bong” Teves Jr. and Barangay Health Workers Party-list Rep. Angelica Natasha Co, both PCFI officials, said their bloc is solidly behind the Alyansa slate, calling it a necessary and strategic show of unity to ensure that the next Senate will be able to meaningfully collaborate with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s administration.

“We are backing candidates who share the same legislative priorities, the same aspirations for a more progressive, more stable and more inclusive Philippines,” said Teves, PCFI vice president.

“These are individuals with long records of public service, competence in governance and commitment to reform under the Bagong Pilipinas campaign of the President,” Co, PCFI secretary general, for her part said.

During the event, Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co called on PCFI members to support the 11-pro administration candidates of President Marcos.

The slate includes ex-DILG Sec. Benhur Abalos, Makati Mayor Abby Binay, Sen. Pia Cayetano, Sen. Lito Lapid, former Sen. Panfilo Lacson, former Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Sen. Bong Revilla, former Senate President Tito Sotto, Sen. Francis Tolentino, former DSWD Sec. Erwin Tulfo and Las Piñas City Rep. Camille Villar.

Speaker Romualdez also appealed to the PCFI members to give their full backing to the 11 senatorial candidates of President Marcos.

“So, we are appealing you na straight Alyansa na lang tayo. If we can go straight Alyansa, we will demonstrate the political clout [of the Party-list lawmakers],” Speaker Romualdez told the event. “I’m here to reiterate, uulitin ko na lang ‘yung lambing natin sa partylist, to support the [Alyansa] senators.”

“Conservatively speaking, when the Party-list acts together or in unison, we are talking of a conservative 15 million votes that you can command easily,” Speaker Romualdez said.

In reaffirming the coalition’s backing, Zaldy Co also emphasized the role of party-lists in mobilizing voters, especially from grassroots sectors.

Zaldy Co said the coalition intends to campaign actively for the Alyansa candidates, maximizing their reach at the community level where the party-list system draws its strength.
