ATEACHER PARTYLIST (137) is a group dedicated to addressing the needs of the marginalized and underserved communities in the Philippines.

Led by Congresswoman Juliette Cortuna, Virgie Rodriguez, and Eddie Avengonzar, ATeacher (137) has been actively working towards their mission of providing accessible and quality education for all Filipinos, regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds.

Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, as they have been making headlines for their significant legislative accomplishments and renewed commitment to serving the people of the Philippines.

One of their most notable achievements is the passage of Republic Act 10647, also known as the Ladderized Education Act of 2014. This law aims to strengthen the ladderized interface between technical-vocational education and higher education, providing more opportunities for students to acquire the necessary skills for employment.

ATeacher has also been instrumental in the passage of Republic Act 10533, or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013, which extends the number of years for basic education (K-12) in the Philippines. This law aims to improve the quality of education and prepare students for higher education and employment.

Moreover, the ATeacher (137) has been working towards the recognition of the first crucial stage of educational development, ages zero to eight, through the enactment of Republic Act 10410, also known as the Early Years Act (EYA) OF 2013. This law provides for a comprehensive and unified student financial assistance system for tertiary education, ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial constraints.

In line with their advocacy of providing accessible education for all, the ATeacher (137) also played a critical role in the passage of Republic Act 10157, the Kindergarten Educational Act, which institutionalizes kindergarten education into the basic education system. This law aims to equip young children with the necessary skills for their future education and success.

Aside from their significant contributions to the education sector, the ATeacher (137) has also been instrumental in the passage of Republic Act 10687, or the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UNIFAST). This law provides a comprehensive and unified student financial assistance system, making higher education more accessible to students from low income families.

The ATeacher (137) has been advocating for the education of top graduates from public schools through Republic Act 10648, the Iskolar ng Bayan Act of 2014. This law provides scholarship grants to deserving students in state universities and colleges, giving them the opportunity to pursue higher education regardless of their financial status.

The ATeacher (137) has been promoting student employment through Republic Act 9547, the Special Program for the Employment of Student (SPES). This law aims to strengthen and expand the coverage of the special program for the employment of students, providing them with opportunities to earn while still studying.

ATeacher (137) continues to champion the cause for accessible and quality education for all through their latest contribution, the passage of Republic Act 10931, also known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act. This law ensures that all students have access to free tuition and other school fees in state and local universities and colleges.

Thanks to the relentless efforts of ATeacher (137), the Philippines is taking significant steps towards providing equal opportunities for education to all Filipinos. Through their unwavering commitment to their cause, ATeacher (137) is making a positive impact on the lives of countless underprivileged individuals, paving the way for a brighter future for the Philippines.
