Bicol solon commends PNP for arrest of 3 in Anson Tan kidnap-slay case
AKO Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co on Sunday praised the Philippine National Police (PNP) for the arrest of three suspects linked to the kidnapping and murder of businessman Anson Tan and his driver, Armanie Pabillo.
Tan and Pabillo were abducted on March 29. Despite reports of ransom payment, their bodies were later found—turning a case of hope into a senseless tragedy.
Two of the suspects, Ricardo David and Raymart Catequista, were arrested in Palawan. The third, David Tan Liao, surrendered to the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG).
“This is swift, coordinated, and effective police work,” Co said. “Criminals must understand they cannot escape the long arm of the law.”
Co commended PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil and the AKG for their decisive action, which he said brings justice closer for the grieving families.
He also recognized the broader effort of the PNP, saying their dedication and professionalism boost public trust in law enforcement.
“Our thoughts are with the families of Mr. Tan and Mr. Pabillo,” Co added. “May this development bring them some comfort.”
The Bicolano solonsaid the case shows the PNP’s strong resolve to protect peace and order and ensure justice for all.
