Soldier drowns in Ecija resort
A TROOPER on Sunday drowned while swimming at a resort in Gen. Tinio, Nueva Ecija.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, the Nueva Ecija police said the victim is a 38-year-old member of the Philippine Army residing in Victoria, Tarlac.
Police were told by the 102nd IB 51D Isabela acting company commander that they conducted a team-building activity at the resort.
Fellow soldiers said they last saw the victim around 3 p.m. of the same day. During personnel accounting at 5 p.m., the victim was already missing.
Troopers searched for the victim and found him unconsciously submerged in one of the pools in the resort.
He was rushed to the Medicare Hospital but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
