THE Office of the Vice President for Public Relations and External Corporate Affairs, Ma. Flordeliza R. De Guzman, MA.Ed. announces the weeklong activity of Saint Bernadette College of Alabang’s 42nd Founding Anniversary, February 6-11, 2025.

This year’s theme “SBCA L.I.V.E.S. on @ 42: Fostering Leadership, Inclusivity, Vision, Excellence and Service” The Vice President stated that this year’s 42nd anniversary activities are academics, sports, and cultural events; for the enrichment of students and other stakeholders of the College.

First Day:
Thursday, February 6, 2025 – A.M. Activities

The celebration kicks off via a motorcade to be participated by the students, faculty members, and stakeholders of the institution. It will be followed by an opening ceremony which will highlight the parade of colors (Participating teams for Sports Competition), and the much-awaited Mr. and Ms. SBCA Intrams 2025. The stamina and endurance of students from the three departments; Basic Education, Technical Vocational Education Training Department (TVET), and College will be tested as they compete in a variety of sports activities including basketball, volleyball, and badminton, with public singing events all alongside inter-departmental lunchtime.

Second Day:
Friday, February 7, 2025 – A.M. & P.M. Activities

The crown of the day will be the Research Forum, to be hosted by the College Department (College of Teacher Education, and College of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship). The forum entitled “Scholaris Manum Opus – The First Inter-Departmental Research Forum,” aims to gather scholars and other research enthusiasts to one venue for a scholarly engagement. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Jaime Gutierrez-Ang; Dean of MLQU School of Graduate Studies, and Faculty Member of the College Department of SBCA. Eight titles are expected to be read during the forum. Later in the afternoon, the same Department will stage “Laro ng Lahi” which aims to promote Filipino tradition through a demonstration of famous Filipino games.

Third Day:
Saturday, February 8, 2025 – A.M. & P.M. Activities

A number of ball games and other sports exhibitions to hosted by the College Department are scheduled.

A RESTAURANT SIMULATION will be staged by the TVET Department. Scholars from Cookery NCII, Bread and Pastry Production NCII, and Food & Beverage Services NCII will participate in the event.

Fourth Day:
Monday, February 10, 2025 – A.M. Activities

Performances from the Basic Education Department such as Zumba Dance spearheaded by the Dance Club alongside Tinig Kiddie and Tinig Teen Bernadettians will be the highlight of the day.

For education purposes, an E-Lighthouse (Basic Education’s Newspaper) Seminar will take place. It will also be the day where the TVET Department celebrates the graduation of the TVET Scholars.

Fifth Day:
Tuesday, February 11, 2025 – A.M. Activities

The culmination of the weeklong activity will be highlighted by a Thanksgiving Mass, in honor of the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes. Mass Celebrant shall be REV. FR. HANSEL MARASIGAN.

The Basic Ed Department activities for the day will be Palaro ng Lahi, talent presentation of Mr. and Miss SBCA candidates, and a friendly basketball match between teachers of the Basic Ed Department and the Ball Games Champion team.

Outstanding Alumni will also be awarded on this day; while, the Medical Mission, of LINGAP BERNADETTIAN program spearheaded by the Campus Health Office, and TVET Department; is in partnership with Muntinlupa City Health Office and other sponsoring Industry Partners.

The President, DR. FELICITAS C. RABONZA will host a lunch dubbed as “A LUNCH WITH THE PRESIDENT” for the Faculty, Staff, administration and other Stakeholders.

The weeklong activities will be concluded with the awarding ceremony late afternoon.

The 42nd Founding Anniversary with the theme SBCA L.I.V.E.S on @ 42: Fostering Leadership, Inclusivity, Vision, Excellence, and Service will be observed until the First Semester of the Academic Year 2025-2026 closes.

All Faculty Members, Parents, Industry partners, and other stakeholders are cordially invited.

St. Bernadette College of Alabang was conceived in the year 1983 with the opening of small, renovated garage, with one, small classroom for the use of ninety—one children enlisted in the Nursery, Kindergarten, and Preparatory levels. Since then, additional grade levels had been added each year. In 1987—1988, the school started to offer Elementary Education.

School Year 1990—1991 marks a complete set of Pre—Elementary, Elementary and Secondary Education curricular offerings.

School year 1996—1997 marks another milestone for the institution with the opening of the College Department. The tertiary level premiere degree courses, BEED (Bachelor of Elementary Education), BSED (Bachelor of Secondary Education) major in English; and BSOA (Bachelor of Science in Office Administration) were given CHED Recognition.

To date, the following curricular programs in the tertiary level are CHED Recognized and granted Government Recognition.

• BSHRM (Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management) with Government Recognition in 2005 has been changed its nomenclature to BSHM (Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management) effective A.Y. 2018-2019

• BSIT (Bachelor of Science in Information Technology) has been granted in 2011

• BSC (Bachelor of Science in Commerce) with Government Recognition in 2004 has been changed to BSBA (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) with major fields in Management and Marketing effective A.Y. 2013—2014

• The Diploma in Midwifery was granted recognition in 2012

• BSEd (Bachelor of Secondary Education) Major in Music Education was added effective A.Y. 2013—2014

• BSEd (Bachelor of Secondary Education) Major in Mathematics and Social Studies were added effective A.Y. 2019-2020.

• BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Psychology has been granted in 2023

• BS (Bachelor of Science) in Entrepreneurship has been granted in 2023

In 2012, SBCA took another significant step by offering its first Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) qualification in Caregiving NC II, which was officially accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). This marked the beginning of a series of TVET qualifications designed to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in various industries. Over the years, SBCA has expanded its TVET offerings to include a diverse range of TESDA-accredited programs such as: Bookkeeping NC III, Computer Systems Servicing NC II, Cookery NC II, Food and Beverage Services NC II, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Japanese Language and Culture I, Restaurant Operations and Services, and Trainer’s Methodology Level I. These qualifications aim to equip individuals with industry-specific skills, promoting employability and career advancement in various sectors.

In 2015, SBCA further strengthened its academic offerings by receiving government recognition for its Senior High School program, continuing its legacy of providing diverse, high-quality educational pathways.
