ANONG kakainin o ipapakain sa pamilya nya kung hindi aayudahan ng gobyerno?”

This is what ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo said in a radio interview regarding the issue of government aid, where he was asked, “hindi kaya tinuturuan ng pamahalaan ang mga mahihirap na maging tamad dahil lagi na lang binibigyan ng ayuda”?

“Hindi po lahat ng tao masuwerte. Meron kahit anong sipag at tiyaga ay malas pa rin dahil marahil hindi nakapagtapos o walang makuhang trabaho,” the House Deputy Majority leader explained.

He added, “For the meantime, habang pilit niya bumangon, kailangan ayudahan para maitawid ang kanyang pangangailangan at ng kanyang pamilya”.

Cong. Tulfo added that the government has many aids such as the Tulong Panghanap Buhay for Displaced Workers (TUPAD) of the Department of Labor and Employment for those who have lost their jobs temporarily.

Those who are unemployed can apply for the Sustainable Livelihood Program or SLP of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

There is also the Medical Assistance for Indigent Persons or MAIP of the Department of Health (DOH) for sick poor countrymen and the well-known Pantawid ng Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps for the poor with school-going children and the DSWD’s Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita (AKAP).

“Lahat kasi ng ito ay pangako ng pangulo na walang maiiwan sa pagbangon ng bansa sa kahirapan,” the lawmaker said.
