
Carlo Aguilar files COC for mayor, vows to bring back the glory days of Las Piñas
BUSINESSMAN Carlo Aguilar filed his Certificate of Candidacy as Mayor of Las Piñas Monday afternoon at the Local Comelec Office.
Former No. 1 Councilor for three consecutive terms, from 2010 to 2019, Aguilar is running under the banner of the Nacionalista Party which his uncle, tycoon Manny Villar leads.
As someone with an untarnished record in business and public service, Aguilar vowed to bring a “fresh and proactive brand of leadership” that will bring back the glory of Las Piñas as one of the fastest-rising cities in the metro.
The charismatic Aguilar was accompanied by his throng of supporters in filing his COC. They declared that “the people of Las Piñas deserve a mayor who will work hard to drive the city to progress, and not lead it to deteriorate by sheer neglect.”
In his announcement, Aguilar stressed that if elected, he would focus on flood control, waste management, the easing of traffic, accessible health care, and providing livelihood to residents, among other important matters.
“We are at a crucial time where we need effective and decisive leadership to tackle pressing issues in Las Piñas. We need to elevate the quality of life of every resident. My priority is to maximize the city’s revenues through better tax collection, which will be channeled towards providing the best social services for our people,” Aguilar said.
He expressed confidence in his ability to lead Las Piñas City by ensuring “transparency, accountability, and good governance.
Aguilar will be challenging his cousin, Vice Mayor April Aguilar who will be running for Mayor replacing her mother Mayor Mel Aguilar who completed her three consecutive terms.
