Vote God-fearing bet for president — Cayetano
VOTERS were urged to choose those faith-based and values-oriented candidates as the next leader of the country.
Former House Speaker and Taguig City Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano made the appeal to the public as the Filipinos will be challenged again to choose the next leaders in 2022 national elections.
According to Cayetano, should these criteria will be considered by the voters he may seek presidency.
“In the same way na nagbigay ang Lord ng choice, I think people have to have a choice. Kailangan may kandidato na Christ-centered at Bible-based ang pamamaraan ng pagpapatakbo ng gobyerno,” Cayetano said.
“Kailangan ‘yung faith-based at saka value-oriented na pamumuno ay isa ‘tong choice ng ating kababayan. Sa diwang ‘yan, I am seriously considering running for president, as we look at the issues,” he added.
Cayetano said that while other potential candidates are vocal in certain issues, there are issues where these candidates fail to take a stance.
He cited the proliferation of online cockfighting betting (e-sabong) and online casinos (e-casinos) as examples.
“Parang wala akong naririnig samantalang ito can really create a generation of zombies na panay sugal na lang imbes na trabaho. Sa diwang ‘yun, I’m really considering running for President,” he said.
However, he said it is still up to the Filipino people to decide on what they want Cayetano to do in 2022 and beyond.
