
155 pet dogs and cats neutered, spayed in GenTri
GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – About 155 pet dogs and cats were spayed and neutered during the operation held yesterday at the Animal Pound Center in Bgy. Pasong Kawayan 2, this city.
Dr. Gloria Digma of the General Trias City Veterinary Office led the program, in partnership with the Cavite State U College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Calabarzon Veterinary Center for free culling of pets.
The activity was supported by the local government under the leadership of Mayor Luis Ferrer IV.
According to Dr. Digma, the purpose of the program is to prevent the increase of stray animals that wander and prevent the increase of domestic animals unexpectedly.
She also said that the anti-rabies drive campaign in the 33 barangays for the protection of the people against rabies is still ongoing.
Digma added that more than a thousand pet dogs and cats are vaccinated every month by the City Veterinary Office.
