NATIONAL Housing Authority (NHA) general manager Joeben Tai recently led the awarding of housing units to 109 families who were victims of the armed conflict between government forces and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) in Zamboanga City.

Located in Bgy. Sta. Barbara, Zamboanga City, the Ayer Village Subdivision Phase III, which features two-storey houses with a kitchen, toilet and bathroom, bedroom, living and dining rooms, and a service/laundry area, will be the new community of the beneficiaries.

Prior to the awarding ceremony, the NHA head inspected the site to ensure the quality of the housing project.

Under the NHA’s mandate, calamity victims are entitled to safe, comfortable, and calamity-resilient homes through the Authority’s Calamity Housing Program.

These are alongside efforts to establish sustainable communities within NHA resettlement sites through the provision of livelihood programs, employment opportunities, and skills-enhancement sessions.
