‘Isang’ enters PAR
THE tropical depression east of Luzon yesterday has entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services said.
“Isang,” the country’s ninth storm this year, was estimated at 1,630 kms. east of Central Luzon, the state weather bureau said in its 11 a.m. bulletin.
It was moving northwest at 15 kph, with maximum winds of 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
PAGASA said “Isang” is unlikely to directly affect the country as it heads north.
The state weather bureau added that the storm may degenerate into a low pressure area and may likely exit the PAR by Sunday or Monday.
