Direk GB loves to direct newcomers
‘HIGH on Sex’ was a big Vivamax hit series last year, so it’s not surprising that they now have a new season, “High on Sex 2”. Just like the HOS2, the new series HOS2 is directed once again by GB Sampedro and is a coming-of-age series about a group of young students and their sexual awakening during their high school years.
So how is HOS2 different from HOS 1? “Ibang iba ito sa una as we now have a new school, totally new characters and also new stories na pagdaraanan nila,” says Direk GB. “We met with Boss Vic del Rosario of Viva and we agreed na kailangang bago ang lahat dito and we meant it to be a starring vehicle for the Pantaxa Laiya girls. Five of them are here at bida sila rito. Sa kanila tumakbo ang story.”
The winners in the Pantaxa Laiya search are Angelica Hart and Aiko Garcia. Also with them are Apple Dy, Audrey Avila, Cess Garcia, Aila Cruz and Armina Alegre. The leading man is Clifford Pusing, supported by Van Allen Ong, Armani Hector and Jason Evans.
How is it directing the cast that are all newcomers? “Okay lang namin sa akin to direct fresh . I enjoy working with them. I like directing raw talents and I’m glad na kasama ako in developing them, giving them new opportunities para sa career nila. Honestly, mas mahirap magdirek ng baguhan kasi iba pa ang orientation nila, nangangapa pa sila sa shooting. But I welcome the challenge. With the proper guidance, okay naman sila. Basta sa umpisa pa lang, I ask us them na for us to be open with each other. I give them a workshop so they’ll know my requirements. I always ask their opinion about my requirements, kung okay ba sa kanila. I want them to be comfortable, para masaya kami sa set at maging harmonious and smooth ang trabaho namin. Ayoko ng stress sa set.” How sexy is 2 compared to 1? “This is definitely more daring than sa una. Maganda ang reception ng audience sa first one, so now, we give the subscribers more than what they expect dito sa sequel. We made sure na mas mapapaangat ang level nito hindi lang sa sexiness level, kundi pati sa story that impart valid messages about sexual relationships to the viewers.”
