ACT-CIS wants Solo Parent Act to be reviewed when Congress reopens
WITH some provisions not being met, the Anti-Crime And Terrorism, Community Involvement Support (ACT-CIS) Partylist wants to review the Solo Parent Act, which became law just a few months ago.
According to ACT-CIS 3rd Nominee Cong.
Tulfo said the problem is that if the single parent lives in a 4th, 5th, or 6th class municipality, they usually do not receive anything because the LGU does not have money earmarked for single parents.
ACT-CIS 1st Nominee Cong. Edvic Yap said at the same time, “ Hindi kasi malinaw ang batas dahil hindi inoobliga ang LGU na maglaan ng pondo para sa kanila”.
“And if wala talagang pondo ang munisipyo, pwede bang humingi ng budget sa national government para maibigay ang ayuda sa solo parent?” said ACT-CIS 2nd Nominee Jocelyn Tulfo.
“Gaano man kaliit ng buwanang cash ayuda para sa solo parents natin, I believe makakatulong ito sa kanilang gastusin,” Tulfo added.
