A total of 3,992 out of 9,183 examinees, or 43.47 percent, have passed the 2022 localized and digitized 2022 Bar examinations, arguably the toughest professional licensure test in the country.

Supreme Court Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, chairperson of the 2022 examinations, said the oath-taking and signing of roll will be held on May 2.

This year’s online and regionalized Bar examinations marked the second time that the SC conducted such tests, with the first one taking place in 2020 and 2021 simultaneously, as the 2020 exams were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the 2022 Bar exams saw five top-performing examinees hailing from the University of the Philippines-College of Law.

Dayday, Czar Matthew Gerard Torres secured the first-place spot with 88.80 percent, followed closely by Mariñas, Erickson Cayabyab with 88.76 percent.

Cregencia, Christiane Claire claimed third place with 87.96 percent, while Yu, Andrea Jasmine Ong and Gatapia, Kim Gia Grande secured the fourth and fifth spots with 87.77 percent and 87.42 percent, respectively.

In a recent advisory, the SC said that Bar passers are required to pay P5,000 for the oath-taking and roll signing thereafter. Payment instructions will be sent to the registered email accounts of the Bar passers.

In addition, Bar passers are expected to dress appropriately in proper court attire and bring their black toga for the oath-taking ceremony.

Guests attending the event are also required to wear proper business attire.

The advisory strictly prohibits guests from wearing shorts, denim pants/skirts, rubber shoes, slippers, and shirts without collars.
