
8 GenTri villages cited at 2nd LnB Congress
CEBU CITY – A total of eight out of 33 barangays of General Trias City (GenTri) were recognized during the 2nd Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) Congress with the theme “Sama-sama, Tulong-tulong Tungo sa Pagsulong! Yan ang Alagang GenTri!” held recently at Samosa International Hotel.
The barangay recognition was awarded by the City Government of GenTri led by Mayor Luis Ferrer IV, Vice Mayor Jonas Labuguen, Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) and local DILG under Ronald Mojica to villages with “Best Practice on Peace and Order”; “Outstanding Practice in Biodegradable Waste Management”; and “High Functional Barangay Anti Drug Abuse Council” (BADAC) for Audit Calendar Year (CY) 2022.
Barangay San Gabriel, led by chairman Allan Pedraza, Captain Jody Niviar of Barangay Vibora, and Kapitana Lucita Agdon of Javalera, led the villages that got recognition for 1st Best Barangay on Peace and Order; High Functional BADAC for Audit CY 2022; Outstanding Practice in Biodegradable Waste Management; and Best Barangay on Gender and Development (GAD).
Bgy. Vibora got the highest rating of 97% in High Functional BADAC for the year 2022 for its sustained initiatives in the fight against illegal drugs in pursuit of a “peaceful and orderly community,” followed by Bgys. San Gabriel, San Juan 1, and San Juan 2 with 95%, respectively.
Pedraza got a 104% rating for 1st Best Barangay on Peace and Order, while Javalera got a 101% rating for 2nd Best and Bgy. Biclatan by LnB Federation President Ireneo Hatid Sr. for 3rd Best Barangay on Peace and Order at 100% rating.
Bgy. Bagumbayan was awarded “Outstanding Practice in Residual Plastic Waste Management” by Captain Alain Barbuco and “Outstanding Practice in Recyclable Waste Management” for Bgy. Manggahan by Chairman Ramil Barrientos.
Meanwhile, Mojica thanked the local government for fully supporting the barangay programs.
