779 jobless get jobs at Caloocan
A total of 779 registered applicants attended the 9th Mega Job Fair conducted by the City Government of Caloocan, through the city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), at the Bulwagang Katipunan on Wednesday, July 26.
Of the 700-plus job seekers, 355 were hired on the spot by the 57 participating partner companies, raising the success rate from the previous job fair’s 34.6 percent to the now 45.6 percent.
City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan thanked the PESO for its continued efforts to organize the job fair and called on more residents to continue attending the next career expos that will be provided by the city.
Likewise, the mayor pointed out that the city government will continue to improve on the success rate of each job fair.
He also encouraged more business owners to participate in the city job fair to have more available opportunities for Caloocan residents while also improving the economic status of the city.
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang pagkilos ng pamahalaang lungsod upang mapataas pa po natin ang bilang ng mga Batang Kankaloo na nakakakuha ng trabaho,” Mayor Along said.
“Sana po ay dumami pa ang bilang ng ating mga partner companies sa mga susunod na job fair. Mas maraming kumpanya, mas maraming trabaho para sa ating mga kababayan at patuloy din ang pag-unlad ng ekonomiya ng ating lungsod,” the local chief executive added.
