
7 suspects nabbed in Malabon drug den raid
AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Tuesday arrested seven persons during an anti-narcotics operation in Malabon City targeting in particular a notorious drug den, PDEA chair Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva said.
The official said that the operation conducted by the PDEA National Capital Region with the support of the Malabon City Police Drug Enforcement Unit resulted in the seizure of 18 grams of shabu worth P122,400 and various drug paraphernalia.
Villanueva said that arrested during the sting at No. 14 San Lorenzo Street in San Vicente Village, Bgy. Maysilo around 2 p.m. Tuesday were Garry Marquez, 28; Karen Manzano, 37; Judy Ann Tagel, 38; Ma. Cristina Avellana, 34; Hondrado Valeriano, 41; Carlo Nelito Gaguhas, 36; and Jumie Bernardo,38.
Marquez, a construction worker, is the owner of the raided house while the other suspects are residents of nearby areas in Malabon or Caloocan cities.
The suspects will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Villanueva.
