6 soldiers on board Army truck unhurt in Maguindanao IED blast

PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief, General Debold M. Sinas yesterday ordered an investigation into a roadside bombing incident in Guindulungan, Maguindanao which failed to hurt six soldiers riding an Army truck.

Sinas ordered PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) director, Major Gen. Albert Ignatius D. Ferro to coordinate their investigation with the Bangsamoro Administrative Region Police Regional Office and the Philippine Army.

Initial investigation showed that six Army soldiers were on board a dump truck of the 549th Engineering Brigade when they hit an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted along the road in Bgy. Macasampen, Guindulungan 8:15 a.m. Sunday.

The soldiers were on their way to Isulan Road from Cotabato when their vehicle hit the IED, said BAR police director, Brigadier Gen. Eden Ugale.
