NAKATAKDANG palayain ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) ang 532 na preso o Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) ngayong Huwebes mula sa pitong piitan sa buong bansa.

Ito’y dadaluhan ni Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, kasama ang iba pang opisyales ng gobyerno at ng piitan.

Kasama rin sa okasyon sina BuCor (Bureau of Corrections) Chief Gregorio Catapang Jr. at Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida Acosta.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng BuCor na 211 PDLs mula sa New Bilibid Prison (NBP) sa Muntinlupa City; 20 mula sa Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) sa Abuyog, Leyte; 67 mula sa San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) sa Zamboanga City; 16 mula sa Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) sa Occidental Mindoro; 24 mula sa Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) sa Palawan; 154 mula sa Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) sa Davao del Norte; at 40 mula sa Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) sa Mandaluyong City ang palalayain sa Huwebes.

Ang BuCor ay isang ahensiya ng DOJ. Batay sa batas, mayroon itong administratibong pagmamando mula sa justice department.
