
5 Metro Manila’s most wanted men jailed
FIVE most wanted persons in Metro Manila were arrested by agents of the National Capital Region Police Office in separate ‘intelligence-driven operations’ this week, NCRPO director, Major General Anthony A. Aberin said on Saturday.
One of the suspects identified only as alias ‘Kwatog,’ a 46-year-old Manila resident wanted for four counts of statutory rape was arrested by members of the Manila Police District in Barangay Maybunga in Pasig City last Thursday, the official said.
The suspect was described as the 5th Regional Most Wanted Person in the metropolis prior to his arrest on the basis of a non-bailable warrant issued by the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 4.
Two other suspects were arrested on Wednesday, Maj. Gen. Aberin said.
One of the two described as a 27-year-old call center agent from Bgy. 176 in Caloocan City, wanted for rape by sexual assault and statutory rape, was apprehended by members of the Northern Police.
Tagged as the Region’s Top 6 MWP, the suspect was ordered arrested by the Caloocan City Family Court Branch 1 on July 15 last year.
The other described as a 36-year-old man wanted for a non-bailable warrant for statutory rape. He was arrested in Bgy. San Marcelino in Ermita, Manila by operatives of the Southern Police District. The man described as the Top 7 MWP in NCR had a warrant issued by the Pasig City RTC Branch 262.
The 4th identified only as alias ‘Mark,’ a 37-year-old delivery rider wanted for two counts of qualified rape and an attempted qualified rape was arrested by NPD agents in Bagong Silang in Bgy. 176, Caloocan City, last Tuesday.
Maj. Gen. Aberin said the suspect is the subject of a P150,000 cash reward offered by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
The 5th tagged as the 3rd MWP in Metro Manila was arrested by SPD agents I Bgy. Commonwealth, Q.C. last Monday. Described as a 26-year-old security guard wanted for murder, the accused was arrested on the strength of a non-bailable warrant issued by a local court.
“These arrest sends a clear message: the NCRPO’s reach is long and unwavering. We will relentlessly pursue those who seek to evade justice. Under the Bagong Pilipinas initiative, we are committed to ensuring that Metro Manila will not be safe haven for criminals to ensure public safety,” said Maj. Gen. Aberin.
