5 men set dump truck on fire in Cavite
POLICE are conducting an investigation into the burning early Saturday morning of a dump truck owned by the Metro Waste Solid Waste Management Corporation on Silang-Paliparan Road, Bgy. Airport 1, Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Dump truck driver Michael Gervacio Estanislao, 26, told police tha he parked the truck on Silang-Paliparan Road at 4 a.m. on Saturday to take a nap.
The garbage truck is owned by Nelson Ching, a businessman.
He said while resting, he smelled gas. He immediately checked and saw the truck on fire and the five men surrounding the vehicle.
The driver ran and sought for help.
Personnel of Dasmariñas Fire Truck Engine Bravo responded and put out the blaze.
Authorities placed the cost of damage at more than P3-million.
Police are pursuing the suspects and investigating the motive for the torching.
