4 drug ops yield P15M worth of ecstasy, ketamine, shabu

FOUR separate anti-narcotics operations by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) this week led to the arrest of four drug suspects and the recovery of nearly P15 million worth of prohibited drugs, PDEG director Brigadier General Eleazar Matta reported on Saturday.

The official said one of the suspects, Maritoni Macainan, 30, was arrested at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City.

The suspect yielded P13.5 million worth of ecstasy and ketamine.

In a report to PNP chief, General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, the PDEG director said that members of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group confiscated 5,033 ecstasy valued at P8.5 million and 998 grams of suspected ketamine worth P4.990 million.

The arrested suspects and the recovered drugs were placed under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

In Cebu City, a buy-bust conducted by the officers from the PDEG Special Operations Unit 7 on Friday led to the arrest of Jhon Recxer Villacorte alias Ontot, a 22-year-old drug suspect.

Members of the PDEA and the Regional Intelligence Unit 7 helped the PDEG operatives arrest the accused who yielded 200 grams of shabu worth P1.360 million.

The 3rd suspect, Jonathan Buckingham, 32, was arrested along Highway 2000, Phase 2, Brgy. Sta. Ana, Taytay, Rizal around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

The 4th suspect, Rolando Corcuera Jr., 45, was arrested in an anti-narcotics search in Tuguegarao City conducted by PDEG officers past 8:00 p.m. Friday.

Recovered inside the house of the suspect in Purok 7, Macapagal Avenue in Brgy. Centro 11, Tuguegarao City was four shabu worth P27,200.
