3 teenagers die in San Pablo road crash

THREE teenagers were killed when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a Toyota Hilux pickup on Sunday evening along Maharlika Highway, Barangay San Rafael, San Pablo City, Laguna.

San Pablo City Police Chief P/Lt. Col. Joewie Lucas said the victims were all minors and were all pronounced dead on arrival due to multiple serious injuries inflicted on their bodies.

Based on the initial report, the victims were thrown a few meters away on the highway when the incident happened at about 11:50 p.m., Nov. 13, 2022.

According to traffic investigators, the victims were not wearing helmets when they hit the Toyota pickup.

“Halos ang mga katawan at binti ng mga biktima [ay] nadurog sa lakas ng impact,” said Lucas.

Based on the investigation, the Toyota Hilux was traveling towards Tiaong, Quezon direction from Alaminos, Laguna, while the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the right portion of the victims’ motorcycle collided with the pickup head-on.

Both vehicles incurred damages, and the motorcycle rider and two passengers were rushed to Panlalawigan Pagamutan ng Laguna but declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Police will file charges of reckless imprudence and multiple homicides against the pickup driver.
