QUEZON City Police District (QCPD) policemen arrested Wednesday three suspects for robbery, carnapping and illegal possession of firearms.

Operatives of the Novaliches Police Station 4 under PLt. Col. Reynaldo Vitto identified the suspects as alias Mark, 23; alias Ronel, 27; and alias Aljon, 30, all of Brgy. San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City.

The suspects reportedly held at gunpoint a Joyride rider and two other people along Katipunan Avenue in front of Kingspoint Subdivision at around 2:00 a.m. last June 26.

The suspects took the wallets of both victims. However, the suspects forcibly seized the Honda PCX motorcycle of the victim when they found out there was no money in the victim’s wallet.

The victims immediately sought assistance from the policemen who were conducting an anti-criminality patrol.

This prompted a brief chase, leading to the arrest of suspect Sato, who stumbled while speeding, and the confiscation of the Yamaha Mio scooter. However, suspects Chavez and Aquines managed to escape using the stolen motorcycle.

A follow-up operation was conducted by the operatives, resulting in the arrest of both suspects at their residences and the recovery of the stolen Honda PCX motorcycle.

During the custodial investigation, victim Campus reported and sought assistance from PS 4 after discovering that his Mio Sporty, parked in front of their residence, was missing.

While at the station, he positively identified the recovered motorcycle from the suspects as his missing motorcycle.

Recovered from the suspects were one white Honda PCX 160, one white Yamaha Mio and one tubular improvised handgun loaded with ammunition

The suspects will be charged with violations of robbery, two counts of RA 10883 (The New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016) and RA 10591 (The Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

PBGen. Redrico A. Maranan, QCPD director, lauded the quick response of the policemen. “Ang matagumpay na operasyon na ito nagpapakita ng kahalagahan ng ating anti-criminality patrols.

Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating mga operasyon laban sa krimen upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayan sa Quezon City,” the official said.
