2 bigtime drug peddlers yield P1M shabu
LUCENA CITY — Police arrested two suspected bigtime drug pushers during a drug buy-bust operation at Purok 1, Bgy. 3, this city.
Caught with plastic sachets containing illegal drugs were Edison Villegas, 40, of Bgy. Isabang, this city, and Francisco Ureta, 62, of Bgy. Bagumbayan, Mauban, Quezon, said Quezon police director Col. Ledon Monte.
Monte said the operation was carried out by the City Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence operatives of the Lucena City Police Station under Lt. Col. Ruben Ballera, with the help of the Quezon Provincial Intelligence Unit.
In a phone interview, Ballera said Villegas yielded 52.1 grams of shabu with a street value of P1,062,840, and 10 pieces of marked P1,000 bills used as buy bust money.
Ballera said both Villagas and Ureta are included in their drug list of Street Level Individuals.
He said the suspects have been under police tight watch following reports from the community that they have been peddling illegal drugs.
