17 gov’t employees, execs nabbed for drugs
KAMPO HENERAL PACIANO RIZAL – Seventeen government employees and local elected government officials were nabbed for alleged involvement in illegal drugs and other petty crimes in Laguna.
The Laguna PNP headed by Police Colonel Randy Glenn G Silvio, acting provincial director, Laguna PPO, said they arrested 10 government employees and government officials for alleged violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Those arrested included second level government employees, barangay councilors, ALS teachers,a barangay chairman, barangay tanod, Red Cross volunteer, PNP personnel and a member of the Philippine Coast Guard.
Seven other government officials were also arrested for other crimes. The included two barangay councilors who were nabbed for Iilegal gambling, two PNP personnel for robbery extortion and illegal gambling, one barangay chairman for serious physical injury and a municipal councilor who surrendered for alleged sexual assault and rape.
The Laguna PNP is following the directives given by our Regional Director, PBGen. Carlito M Gaces and our Chief PNP, PGen. Benjamin C Acorda JR, to implement the law without favor and fear to anyone even they are in public figure or belonging to any other government agencies,” said Silvio.
