FOUR separate anti-narcotics operations conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) with the support of the Philippine National Police this week led in the arrest of 14 drug personalities and the seizure of over P12 million worth of shabu and dried marijuana leaves, PDEA chair, Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva said yesterday.

Villanueva said the suspects’ arrest came following information they were involved in the trafficking of illegal drugs in Metro Manila and Central Luzon.

Five of the suspects identified as John Patrick Milan, 27; Kevin Paul Jose, 27; Mispa Jamsen, 28; Jayson Justiniano, 40; and Enrick Justin, 29, were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Bulacan PDEA and the Bulacan Police Provincial Office at no. 2-B, 920 Look 1st C in Malolos City 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Recovered from the suspects were 68 kilograms of dried marijuana bricks with a market value of P8.1 million, a weighing scale and the boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.

On the same day, PDEA Region 3 operatives arrested Mary Grace Sison, 37, resident of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, after she sold 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million to an undercover agent inside a public market in Bgy. Loma de Gato in Marilao, Bulacan.

Last Monday, PDEA Cordillera agents arrested four marijuana traffickers identified as Dan Mark de los Reyes, Lawrence Ignacio, Vince Robles and John Cesar Padilla, all residents of Parang, Marikina, for transporting more than 8 kilos of cannabis bricks in Poblacion, Sadanga, Mountain Province.

The suspects were on board a black Toyota Avanza when they were intercepted by PDEA officers who were acting on a tip that the suspects were carrying marijuana.

PDEA officers also arrested seven persons inside a drug den in Cabanatuan City which they raided last Sunday. Recovered during the operation were 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing an estimated P136,000 worth of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money.

The seven were identified as Robert Guy, 52; Ricardo Sumayao Jr., 58; Michael Guy, 50; Rodel Mateo, 55; Jerwin Allarces, 30; Jeff Guy, 47; and Jayson Mateo, 50, all residents of Aduas Centro in Cabanatuan City.

All suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Villanueva.
