11 held for bingo in San Jose City
SAN JOSE CITY – Eleven jobless locals were rounded up for playing bingo here on Sunday afternoon.
Nabbed were Dorina Calica, 36, the alleged bingo maintainer/operator, Evelyn Dalumpines, 28, Elma Domingo, 29, Gina Biano, 31, Divina Calixtro, 45, Aira Quesada, 18, Grade 12 student, Meliza Garcia, 19, Jocelyn Montoya, 21, Jocelyn Soriano, 25, Andrea Feliciano, 34, and Earvin Jay Garcia, 25, all jobless, of Sitio Pinagcuartelan, Zone 6, Bgy. Sto. Niño 1st.
City police head Lt. Col. Criselda Y. De Guzman said the operation was led by Lt. Gladys Joy Cabiltes at the supposed gambling lair at 3:15 p.m.
Seized were cash bets amounting to P670 in different denominations and bingo paraphernalia.
De Guzman said charges for violation of Republic Act 1602 are being readied for filing against the arrested suspects before the city prosecutor’s office here.
