TRIPLE STORMS ENHANCING HABAGAT AS “HANNA” ENTERS PAR

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration yesterday said three tropical cyclones are enhancing the southwest monsoon, which will continue to dump rain over the western part of Luzon.

PAGASA said severe tropical storm Hanna (international name Haikui), super typhoon Goring (Saola), and tropical storm Kirogi are currently strengthening habagat.

Saola and Kirogi are outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The state weather bureau said the enhanced southwest monsoon will bring occasional to monsoon rain over the western portion of Luzon in the next three days.

Hanna was last spotted 1,160 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon, with peak winds of 110 kilometer per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph.

PAGASA said there’s a low chance of raising tropical cyclone wind signals.

Hanna is forecast to remain far from the Philippine landmass and may exit PAR today.
