DAVAO de Oro Vice Gov. Maria Carmen Zamora, a three-term lawmaker and a staunch ally of reelectionist Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, is now making her comeback at the House of Representatives.
On Saturday, Zamora, a former officer-in-charge (OIC) of the House committee on appropriations during the speakership of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, filed her certificate of candidacy (CoC) for the 1st District of Davao de Oro under the Hugpong ng pagbabago (HNP) regional party of Duterte.
Zamora had been the district representative during the 15th, 16th, and 17th Congress (2010-2019) and was the House committee on appropriations OIC at the early part of the Arroyo speakership until former Camarines Sur Rep. Rolando “Nonoy” Andaya, Jr. assumed the post.
She was the senior vice chairman of the appropriations panel.
“We will continue to deliver the needs of our constituents in this time of COVID-19 (coronavirus diseasde-19) pandemic. Our leadership will continue to champion the interest of the people, that is our brand of service,” Zamora said.
Provincial Election Supervisor of Davao de Oro, Atty. Krisna Samantha Caballero assisted Zamora and her slate during the filing. She was the first to file CoC in Davao de Oro.
Davao de Oro Gov. Tyron Uy and aspiring Board Members from his line-up also filed their COC.
Davao de Oro 1st District Rep. Manuel “Way Kurat” Zamora, both member of HNP and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) led by House Majority Leader and Leyte Rep. Martin G. Romualdez as president, will run as mayor of the Municipality of Monkayo.
