HARD-CORE volunteer groups intensified their campaigning for Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer Isko Moreno Domagoso as they remain focused on the primary objective of helping the Manila city mayor become the next president of the Republic.

Team Isko’s youth volunteers are leading the grassroots-type of campaign with the “Bus ni Isko” caravan braving the storm and rough waters during their trip to Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte last week, affirming the “no retreat, no surrender” attitude of their presidential candidate.

Ces Bayan of the group Ama ni Isko, Team Leader of the Visayas-Mindanao leg of “Bus ni Isko” described their trip to Dapitan City via RoRo as “challenging” because of the bad weather.

Bayan said the youth volunteers of the 47-year-old presidential bet remain dedicated and committed to continuing and finishing the electoral campaign “come hell or high water.”

The youth campaigners of “Bus ni Isko” Visayas-Mindanao leg just made rounds in Dumaguete City distributing Aksyon Demokratiko T-shirts, aprons, and other campaign materials to convince the voting public to “Switch to Isko.”

Launched in Quezon City on April 4, the “Bus ni Isko” campaign caravan aims to increase awareness of Moreno’s presidential run, believing that with his proven track record as Manila city mayor especially during the height of the pandemic, Moreno can replicate his accomplishments nationwide.

Youth volunteers on board the “Bus ni Isko” in Luzon have been to the provinces of Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley and all the way to the Ilocos Region where they expressed surprise that some Ilocano farmers they encounters were asking for T-shirts as they are “silent supporters” of Moreno.

In Antipolo City, the Youth for Isko-Metro Manila-Rizal Chapter and the President Isko Movement-Isulong ang Kapakanan ng Mamamayang Pilipino (PRIMO-ISKO) on Monday held a lightning rally in front of the Cogeo Market to call on the Bureau of Internal Revenue to immediately collect the P203 billion estate tax which the Marcos family owe to the Philippine government.

The Youth for Isko pointed out that around 1 million students and out-of-school youth will be able to study for at least four years should the P203-billion Marcos estate tax liability is finally collected by BIR.

“Hanggang ngayon ay dama ng mamamayang Pilipino ang hirap ng buhay dala ng Covid-19 pandemic, at tuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng gasolina kaya dapat lang na makalikom ng pera ang gobyerno para sa mga kabataan,” said PRIMO-ISKO President Nato Agbayani.

Agbayani said many high school graduate cannot afford collegiate education due to financial constraints which was made even worse by the Covid-19 pandemic. He said the proceeds from the tax liability of the Marcoses would be a good source of budget for the education sector.

“Wag nating payagang tuluyang maiwan at isantabi ang kapakanan ng mga kabataan, isang milyong kabataan ang kayang pag-aralin sa loob ng apat na taon, sapat upang makatapos sila sa high school at kolehiyo hanggang makahanap ng hanapbuhay at makatulong sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng pagbabayad din ng tamang buwis,” Agbayani said.
