Woman cheats death in Ecija after being shot twice in back
GENERAL NATIVIDAD, Nueva Ecija – A woman cheated death after being shot twice at the back by unidentified motorcycle-riding men here on Monday morning.
Town police head Major Nelson Sarmiento identified the wounded victim as Faith Alberto Pascua, of Bgy. Platero, this town.
She was driving a Suzuki Smash motorcycle along the Gen. Natividad-Platero Road towards the town proper at 6:00 a.m. when the suspects on board a motorcycle peppered her with bullets, hitting her at the back.
Sarmiento said the victim was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital by a responding municipal ambulance for emergency treatment.
Recovered at the crime scene were two spent shells for cal. 45 pistol.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the shooting.
