What Pio gathers with every endeavor

SINGER-rapper-actor, director, vlogger and content creator Pio Balbuena cannot be any prouder that he has been making a mark in every venture that he embarks in.
When he entered the music scene in 2020, Pio won an Awit Award for Best Novelty Recording for “Lakompera,” a hilarious take on society’s money-based materialistic orientation. Pio penned and produced the song for Viva Records.
When he attempted making short films and joined the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in 2021, Pio bagged an award for Best Creator Jury’s Choice for the entry, “Kandado.”
When he joined comedy skits, Pio took home the “Ganti ng Inaping Tambay” award for Best Original Series from the Community Engagement Award from Independent Creators.
Meanwhile, when it comes to Pio’s highly popular Tambay caps, the artist remains thankful that after five years, his very successful Tambay caps are still strongly patronized not just in the Philippines, but in other parts of the globe.
The success of the Tambay series prompted Pio to start his Tambay cap business, with the product sold online, reaching not only the Philippines, but also Singapore, South Korea, the Middle East, Italy and the US.
“Who am I to sign the Tambay caps to increase their value to P10,000 and as much as P150,000?” Pio said. “Nothing is scripted. Everything is real.”
Undoubtedly, Pio’s entertainment image largely helps in constantly pushing the Tambay caps to the forefront of his business.
Yet, Tambay cap isn’t just a business for Pio. It’s a lifestyle, a movement and a source of inspiration for many. He is the successful CEO (chief executive officer) of Tambay Traders, Inc., the company duly registered to do business online worldwide.
Pio’s Tambay Light wine bottle is now available in leading supermarkets.
Pio’s wife, Aira, helps and assists him in running the business since he started with Tambay Traders, Inc. five years ago.
“Everything that happened to me is the product of my hard work, sleepless nights, perspiration and endless tears every time I am down,” said Pio. “I always get up and rise again.”
