WE chanced upon actress-businesswoman Jobelle Salvador at the Call for Unity and thanksgiving party in support for president-elect Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. and VP-elect Sarah Duterte organized by Camarines Sur Vice Governor Imelda Papin with the Katipunan ng mga Artista sa Pelikula at Telebisyon at President’s Restaurant in Binondo Sunday.

The Las Vegas based actress-businesswoman is now in the country, as she supported the campaign for the Uniteam of BBM and Sarah Duterte. Jobelle said that she also helped organized groups for BBM in Las Vegas as well as in Japan where she still maintains a condo.

Her ex-husband, a Japanese, owns Boteyju in Japan and it was she who was instrumental in bringing the franchise here in the Philippines under the Viva Group of Companies headed by Boss Vic del Rosario.

While busy with her business, Jobelle still finds time to act on TV and movies. Her last TV appearance was with her niece, Janella Salvador and cousin, Maja Salvador in ‘The Killer Bride.’

While the ‘Bagets’ star is quite busy with a lot of things, she says she’s still open to acting jobs for which she’s good at. Her children, Mico and Jullyna are now both grown ups, and living on their own. Mico is now in Las Vegas, while Jullyna is in Japan. It was rumored that Mico’s dad is senator-elect Robin Padilla, but Jobelle later on retracted on her statement, saying it was a TV personality who actually fathered him. Jullyna is by her former Japanese boyfriend.

Jobelle looks happy at the moment, and her focus now is supporting the incoming Marcos government.

Imelda leads artists in support of BBM-Sarah Uniteam

MEANWHILE, outgoing Camarines Sur Vice Governor Imelda Papin led the call for unity in support of the BBM-Sarah government.

The event, Imelda says, is her group’s (KAPT) gesture of gratitude for BBM and family, especially former First Lady Imelda Marcos who “gave local artists worldwide exposure and dignity.”

Adds Imelda: “We fondly recall the times when OPM (original Pilipino Music) had its heyday in the 70s when Madame Imelda (Marcos) required radio stations to play OPMs around the clock.”

It was also the former first lady who spearheaded the establishment of the Cultural Center of the Philippines which was a venue for the arts and culture.

Imelda Papin likewise mentioned Senator Imee Marcos as the one who was behind the Metro Pop Music Festival and the Experimental Cinema of the Philippines which paved the way for innovative filmmaking.

Meanwhile, the event last Sunday in Chinatown was also marked to honor several well-known showbiz personalities like the late Susan Roces and husband Fernando Poe, Jr for their contribution to the industry.

Celebrities who were able to accept their plaques of appreciation personally included Pilita Corrales, Dulce, Eva Eugenio, Anthony Castelo, Darius Razon, Ricardo Cepeda, Jay Manalo, among others.

Raffy getting ready for new job

SENATOR-elect Raffy Tulfo graced a dinner hosted by Brilliant Skin CEO Glenda Victorio at Anabel’s Saturday. In attendance were Brilliant Skin Essentials franchisees who were just too eager to see him. It just looked like the feisty Youtuber soon-to-be senator isn’t ready yet to answer questions regarding his soon-to-be new job which should be tougher than what he does online.

He had a small talk with the Brilliant Skin CEO and we later learned that he is going to have a business partnership with Miss Glenda for a product to be announced sooner than soon.

After his short speech, he appeared too amiable with everyone, obliged to pose for pictures with the franchisees, who were mostly giggly young women. The senator-elect still personifies a heartthrob, and a hero, especially when he stated that he would be at everyone’s beck and call as “a senator and public servant.”
