Weekend heavy traffic in QC
THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised motorists to brace for heavy traffic in some areas in Quezon City this weekend.
In its advisory, manhole restoration will be undertaken along EDSA Northbound before McDo Centris to Centris Station in Quezon City and on C5 Katipunan Northbound from Shell to Countriside which started Friday before midnight.
To give way to the restoration, one lane beside the sidewalk will be occupied from 10pm on Friday and will be passable to vehicles by 5a.m. on Monday, May 24.
Activities will cover opening of three manholes and two entry/exit holes on the two said locations.
Meanwhile, excavation activities for Test Pit and Standard Penetration Test will be conducted on the sidewalk near the corner of West Avenue and EDSA eastbound in Quezon City from May 22 until July 8 in preparation of the concept design for the proposed guide way of the Metro Railway Transit-Line 7 (MRT-7) Project.
The MMDA advised motorists to use alternate route to avoid heavy traffic.
