Wala nang naitalang Pogo-related kidnappings, crimes – PNP
INIHAYAG ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na wala na umanong naitalang kaso ng kidnapping at iba pang krimen na may kinalaman sa Philippine offshore gaming operators (Pogo) sapul pa noong Setyembre 15.
Ginawa ng mga opisyal ng PNP ang pahayag matapos tanungin ng mga senador kung kaya ba nilang hawakan ang mga krimen na may kinalaman sa POGO industry.
Sa pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Ways and Means noong Lunes, tiniyak ng PNP sa mga senador na gumawa na ang kapulisan na mga hakbang para maresolba ang mga krimen na may koneksiyon sa POGO.
Nagresulta aniya ito sa zero-Pogo-related crimes sa National Capital Region (NCR), Region III at Region IV-A sapul nang talakayin ng Senado ang iba’t ibang isyu ng POGO noong Setyembre 15.
Una rito, hiningan ni Senador Ronald dela Rosa ng update ang PNP kung may naitalang mga krimen na may kinalaman sa Pogo nitong nagdaang mga linggo.
“After our last hearing, what is the improvement of our peace and order situation as far as POGO-related crimes are concerned? Meron bang nangyaring kidnapping pa? Meron bang nangyaring patayan… POGO-related?” tanong ni Dela Rosa, dating PNP chief.
Tugon naman ni Police Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, acting regional director ng National Capitol Region Police Office (NCRPO), “magmula tayo nag-hearing, up to today, walang insidente ng kidnapping sa Metro Manila.”
Maging sina Region 3 acting regional director PBGen Cesar Pasiwen at Region IVA acting regional director PBGen Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., ay inaming walang naitalang insidente ng Pogo sa Central Luzon at Calabarzon nitong mga nagdaang linggo.
Sabi ni Estomo, ito’y resulta sa pagpokus nila sa crime prevention kung saan nagdagdag sila ng police visibility, dagdag ng police outpost sa lugar ng POGO tulad ng Entertainment city at close coordination sa mga Pogo at ahensiya ng gobyerno tulad Bureau of Immigration at Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.
Sinuportahan naman ng Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Eugene Ang ang testimoniya ng mga opisyal ng PNP.
“We have noticed that with the quick action of our law enforcement agencies, particularly the different agencies of the PNP and the NBI, peace and order has greatly improved and lately for the last two weeks we have not received any more reports on abductions and kidnappings,” sabi ni Ang.
“We would like to congratulate the law enforcement agencies and we hope that they would continue the effort to make sure that the peace and order situation is under control,” dagdag pa niya.
