THE Southern Police District (SPD) recognized deserving uniformed and non-uniformed personnel in celebration of its 121st Police Service Anniversary and 48th founding anniversary on Friday at the SPD Grandstand in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Served as the guest of honor and speaker, Vice President Sara Z. Duterte expressed her congratulations to the awardees as she led the awards presentation, together with SPD Acting Director P/Col. Kirby John Kraft in the event attended by Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon, former PNP (Philippine National Police) chief Debold Sinas, chief of police of six cities and one municipality, and other guests.

This year’s awardees for the administrative category include P/Col. Robert Baesa, Taguig City Police Station, Best Police Commissioned Officer for Administration; P/Lt. Col. Randy Moratella, Makati Police Station, Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Administration; P/EMS Elmer Bunao, Muntinlupa Police Station, Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Administration; and P/SSg Deo Lizada, District Personnel and Records Management Division, Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Administration.

For the operation category, P/Col. Angel Garcillano, Muntinlupa City Police Station, Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Operations; P/Maj. Brent Salazar, Parañaque Police Station, Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Operations; P/EMS Heriberto Saguiped, Taguig Police Station Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operations; and P/Cpl. Gladys Pancho, DCADD, Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operations.

For the non-uniformed personnel category, NUP Aida Dimaiwat Baudin, District Personnel and Records Management Division, Best Non-Uniformed Personnel for Supervisory Category, and NUP Jenny Rose Calma Caole, District Personnel and Records Management Division for Best Non-Uniformed Personnel for Non-Supervisory Category.

Unit Award Category goes to Muntinlupa City Police Station as “Best City Police Station” for 2021, Sub-Station 5 BF Homes Parañaque City Police Station for Best Sub-Station for 2021, Station Drugs Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Taguig City Police Station for Best Anti-Illegal Drugs Unit for 2021, SPD Forensic Unit for Best District Operations Support Unit and SPD Medical and Dental Unit for Best District Administrative Support Unit for 2021.

“Whenever I get the chance to pass or see a police officer in Davao, I only have two things to say to them. First, I thank them for their passion, dedication, and diligence in serving our country and second hulihin niyo kahit kaibigan niyo,” Vice President Duterte said in her speech.
