Vince Dizon takes over DOTr, replaces Bautista

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed former Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) chief Vivencio “Vince” Dizon as the next head of the Department of Transportation (DOTr),

Dizon will replace DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista wjo reisgned from his post due to health reasons.

Dizon’s appintment will take effect on February 21.

“He is already authorized by the Office of the President to start the transition at the DOTr in coordination with the team of Secretary Jaime Bautista, who has resigned due to health reasons,” Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said in a statement on Thursday.

Presidential Communications Office acting Secretary Cesar Chavez said Dizon has been in government service for the last 26 years.

He has extensive experience in both the Legislature, as chief of staff of the late Senate President Edgardo J. Angara, and the Executive, especially during the term of President Rodrigo Duterte where he played numerous pivotal roles. These include Presidential Adviser on Flagship Programs and Projects and President and CEO of the Bases Conversion Development Authority as part of the massive Build Build Build program; and Presidential Adviser and Deputy Chief Implementer against Covid 19.

Dizon was also an Assistant Professor of Economics at De La Salle University.

Dizon is presently the Chief Regulatory Officer of Prime Infrastructure.
