Vince Dizon takes oath as DOTr chief
VIVENCIO “Vince” Dizon took his oath Friday as secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
Dizon, who replaced former Transportation chief Jaime Bautista, took his oath of office before President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Dizon, former president of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), previously served as deputy chief implementer of the National Task Force Against COVID-19 under the Duterte administration.
He was also the former presidential adviser for flagship programs and projects.
In a Palace press conference, Dizon vowed to improve the country’s transport systems and fast-track ongoing projects as well as projects that are still in the pipeline.
“Ang objective natin simple lang: pabilisin at ayusin para maging safe ang ating mga transport systems,” Dizon said.
“And importantly, we have to build better and we have to build more. Meaning, hindi na pwede ang ‘pwede na’,” he noted.
The Palace first confirmed Dizon’s appointment as DOTr chief on February 13, replacing Bautista.
