Villanueva seeks reelection

SENATOR Joel “Tesdaman” Villanueva expressed his desire to run for senator again for the 2022 senatorial election.

This was announced by re-electionist Senator Villanueva at the launch of Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program that will benefit approximately 40,000 or more for this year to revive our economy.

Villanueva said : “Like the soldiers, our government trains in preparation for war, we also need to prepare our workers so that our economy can continue to rise and improve.”

Villanueva intends to be reelected to create more laws that will provide protection to our workers and wants to promote job creation, provide adequate education for every citizen, adequate and proper services to all citizens, dignity of every one and the advancement of every Filipino.

Villanueva became senator in 2016 after coming second among the winning senators and garnering 18,459,222 votes but even before being elected Villanueva served as Director General of TESDA from 2010 to 2015.

Among Villanueva’s bills he authored and signed into law were Doktor para sa Bayan; Work from Home law; Tulong Trabaho law; Job Safety and Health Standards; at First-time Jobseekers Assistance Act.

Currently, Villanueva has filed 500 bills since he became senator and 82 have signed into law.

Two of his bills pending to become laws are the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers and the Department of Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos, which are expected to be passed by Congress before the year ends.

Villanueva was the youngest legislator elected in 2002 as representative of the Citizens ’Battle Against Corruption (CIBAC) Party-list.
