DSOU head P/Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal said the suspect was caught in the act of holding a firearm grip tucked in his waist prompting operatives to pounce on him before he could aim the gun at them.

Operatives recovered from the suspect a gun replica with an improvised imitated magazine loaded with 10 pellet bullets.

Investigation showed that at around 10:50 a.m., while Victorino Bonzon, 49, businessman and owner of the apartment being rented by Van Kinh and his Filipina wife were fixing the electric sub-meter, the suspect appeared, aimed his gun and shouted on top of his voice telling the victim to perfectly fix the sub-meter since he was paying too much for the electric bill.

Bonzon, for fear of his life, sought the assistance of Lt. Col. Dimaandal who immediately instructed Lt. Pabon to respond to the area, resulted to the arrest of the suspect.

P/BGen. Hidalgo said the suspect was presented for inquest proceedings before the Navotas City Prosecutor’s Office for grave threat and violation of Section 35 o R.A. 10591 or the Use of an Imitation Firearm.
