Vendor killed at convenience store in Taguig

A 38-YEAR-OLD vendor was shot dead in front of a convenience store Monday before dawn in Taguig City.

Gil Cahil of Bgy. Katuparan, died on the spot from bullet wounds in the body while the still unidentified gunman, wearing a black jacket with a hood and white short pants, fled on foot after the killing.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said the incident happened at around 2:00 a.m. in front of Ministop convenience store located along Triump, Visayas St., Bgy. South Signal, Taguig City.

Tricycle driver Peter John Besana, 29, of Bgy. Katuparan, who witnessed the incident, told the police that the victim was about to go to the convenience store when he was shot repeatedly by the lone gunman.

Taguig Police homicide investigators are now looking into the victim’s background to determine the motive behind the killing while a follow-up operation for possible identification and arrest of the suspect is being carried out by Taguig policemen.
