V. Mapa HS (Manila East) Alumni Assoc. homecoming, awards set
THE V. Mapa High School (Manila East) Alumni Association Inc., will be celebrating its 42nd Grand Alumni Homecoming and Blue Falcon Awards come October 23, 2021, Saturday at 1 o’clock in the afternoon through its first virtual and blended reunion via Zoom.
This year’s theme is “MAPA – T.A.O. – Together As One” which celebrates and highlights jubilarian graduates from Classes 1951 (Platinum), 1956 (Blue Sapphire), 1961 (Diamond), 1966 (Emerald), 1971 (Golden), 1976 (Sapphire), 1981 (Ruby), 1986 (Coral), 1991 (Pearl), 1996 (Silver), 2001 (China), 2006 (Crystal), 2011 (Tin) and 2016 (Wood). This year’s Guest of Honor is Dr. Cornelio Banaag Jr. of Class ’54, most popularly known as the Father of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the Philippines.
One of the highlights of the event is bestowing the Blue Falcon Awards to deserving graduates of V. Mapa High School who excelled and exemplifies themselves of what exceptional Mapa graduates are. 6th District Representative of Manila, Cong. Bienvenido M. Abante, Jr. of Class ’68, will be awarded as the Most Outstanding Alumnus for 2021 for his achievement as most outstanding congressman of the country for five (5) consecutive years and in recognition of his great legislative contributions in landmark laws like the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010, the Cheaper Medicines Act of 2010 and in establishing the first ever National Center for Geriatric Health.
