THE quarterfinal round cast is complete.

University of Santo Tomas and College of St. Benilde posted similar three-set victories over their respective opponents to advance to the quarterfinal round in the 2023 Shakey’s Super League (SSL) National Invitationals at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

UST outclassed La Salle-Dasmariñas, 25-10, 25-10, 25-8, to sweep Group B, while NCAA champion St. Benilde bested NAASCU champion and Luzon qualifier Enderun Colleges, 25-11, 25-13, 25-10, to dominate Group D.

Xyza Gula, Maribeth Hilongo and Karylle Ann Caasi joined hands for UST, which needed only 64 minutes to eliminate La Salle-Dasmariñas in the tournament presented by the Commission on Higher Efucation (CHED), Eurotel as the official hotel and Victory Liner as office transport provider.

Gula tallied with 14 points, Hilongo added 13 points and Caasi contributed 13 points in the Golden Tigresses’ winning efforts.

“Gusto ko lang po na maayos ‘yung performance namin. Kulang pa po kami sa chemistry but we’re getting there,” said Caasi.

St. Benilde aldo had an easy time against Enderun.

Wielyn Estoque and Jade Gentapa teamed-up for the Blazers with 21 points in the match that lasted only 63 minutes.

“Nag-focus lang po kami sa game plan at nag-enjoy lang po kami. Stick lang po ulit kami sa plan at mag-enjoy sa quarterfinals,” said Estoque.

With UST’s win over La Salle- Dasmariñas, CESAFI champion University of San Jose-Recoletos clinched the second seed in Group B with 1-1 record.

Despite the loss to St. Benilde, Enderun also made the quarterfinals with 1-1 mark in Group D.

Group B No. 1 UST vs.Group A No. 2 Enderun
