AFTER winning two UAAP men’s basketball titles with University of the Philippines, JD Cagulangan is ready to begin his professional career overseas.

Korean Basketball League’s Suwon KT Sonicboom has officially signed Cagulangan, the club announced through its social media accounts Tuesday night.

Suwon KT currently holds fourth place position in the KBL standings with a 10-8 record.

The Sonicboom are also competing in the 2024-25 EASL season.

KT Suwon is currently 2-2 in the standings in Group A — which also has Taiwan’s Taoyuan Pauian, Japan B.League’s Hiroshima, PBA’s San Miguel, and Hong Kong’s Eastern.

Cagulangan’s official signing came a day after Kevin Quiambao, who led La Salle to a UAAP men’s basketball championship last year and won two season MVPs, has decided to forego his college eligibility and move to greener pastures.

The morning after the Green Archers lost to the Fighting Maroons in the deciding Game 3, Quiambao announced that he will bring his wares to KBL’s Goyang Sono SkyGunners with an ultimate goal of reaching the NBA.

The SkyGunners then made it official the acquiring of Quiambao through their social media accounts yesterday.
