AS the sending of cash and relief goods continued for the victims of super typhoon Odette, the BBM-Sara UniTeam announced that they are now distributing construction materials for the repair of damaged houses in the affected areas.

In an interview on Wednesday over SMNI, presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., said that the areas devastated by super typhoon Odette are already in the reconstruction phase, and that is also what their UniTeam is currently addressing.

“Pagkatapos ng bagyo ang kailangan talaga ‘yung mga shelter. Meron silang mga evacuation center pero pati ‘yun nasira rin. Kaya ‘yung mga evacuees kung saan-saan lang natutulog,” said Bongbong.

The former senator stressed that he personally saw the needs of the residents after their visits to the areas badly hit by the typhoon.

“Kailangan ng mga tao ngayon ay construction materials, so ‘yun ang hinahakot namin ngayon para maipadala namin. Mga simple lang mga trapal lang muna kasi mga bubong ay butas butas para merong masilungan,” Bongbong explained.

“Tapos mga plywood, mga dos-por-dos, mga pako, mga martilyo, lagari, lahat ng mga construction material, GI sheets. Lahat ‘yan ‘yung mga pangangailangan sa re-building ‘yun na ngayon ang ginagawa namin. ‘Yun na ngayon ang hinahakot namin,” he added.

Bongbong also called on supporters that apart from donating relief goods, that they may also send construction materials to be immediately distributed to Odette’s victims.

“Humihingi kami ng tulong sa lahat ng ating mga kaibigan at dahan-dahan ay ipinapadala namin sa iba’t ibang lugar na tinamaan ng Odette,” the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer said.

It can be recalled that the BBM-Sara UniTeam has been continuously distributing cash aid and relief goods to the areas devastated by the typhoon.
