LAKAS-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Saturday barnstormed Pasig City and thanked Mayor Vico Sotto and Rep. Roman Romulo for welcoming her campaign team.
In the course of a visit at the Pasig City Mega Market, Duterte indulged a girl with a selfie.
Duterte had a meet-and-greet with officers of the city’s Parents-Teachers Associations (PTA) and Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA).
She chatted with stallholders and vendors at the public market and ate the favorite Pinoy summer snack halo-halo at Charing’s Halo-Halo special.
Duterte expressed gratitude to Sotto, whose uncle is also running for vice president, Romulo and other local officials for welcoming her in their city and assisting her in her visit.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami sa office at kay Congressman Roman Romulo, thank you po. Sa ating City Administrator Atty. Jeron (Jeronimo) Manzanero, sa atin pong City Mayor Vico Sotto, sa ating Pasig Market Administrator Joey Molina, sa atin pong market President Tita Carla, sa TODA ng Pasig, PTA, at kay former Councilor Shalani Soledad (Romulo’s wife),” Dutertes said who campaigned in Pasig City with UniTeam senatorial candidate Win Gatchalian.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa kanilang lahat dahil tinulungan nila kami ngayong umaga (Sabado) na makasama kayo at makagawa tayo ng munting pagsasama-sama ngayon dito sa Pasig,” Duterte said.
She also thanked all those who greeted her and those she met with.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa inyong lahat sa oras at oportunidad na ibinigay ninyo sa amin ngayong umaga na ito na makasama kayo, na makikala kayo, at makapagbigay rin mensahe sa inyong lahat,” Duterte said.
While eating halo-halo at Charing at the public market, a girl came up to her teary-eyed to request for a selfie, telling the mayor she is her idol.
Duterte offered her halo-halo but the girl said all she wanted was a photograph with her.
The vice presidential aspirant gladly granted her fan’s request.
