TARLAC CITY – The mayor here on Saturday echoed the call of the UniTeam presidential-vice presidential tandem of former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (BBM) and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte for Filipinos to set aside their differences and unite behind the leaders they will elect on May 9.

Mayor Cristy Angeles of Tarlac City appealed during a huge rally she hosted for the BBM-Sara team and their senatorial candidates at the city plaza.

The UniTeam candidates addressed the rally in the course of barnstorming Tarlac, the home province and bailiwick of the Aquinos.

Nandidito nga siya ngayon para magkaisa ng tunay at mamumuno sa atin para tayo po ay lalong umunlad, dadalhin tayo sa tunay na kinabukasan sapagkat tayong lahat ay magkakaisa at magtutulungan,” Angeles, the first lady mayor of Tarlac City who is seeking her last term in the coming polls, told her constituents in introducing Marcos.

Magkaisa po tayo,” Angeles said.

She later told reporters in an ambush interview that Filipinos should put away acrimony and fractiousness.

“It’s time for forgiveness and healing. Mag-unite tayo,” she said.

Angeles predicted that the Marcos-Duterte tandem would win not only in her city but in the entire province of Tarlac as well.

Duterte thanked Angeles and Tarlaqueños for their warm welcome and support for her team.

It was former Tarlac congressman and now UniTeam senatorial candidate Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. who introduced Duterte to his province mates.

“Ibang klase pong makisama itong tao na ‘to. Teodoro asked.

“Inday Sara Duterte!” chorused Tarlaqueños.

The UniTeam started its Tarlac visit with a motorcade, followed by a rally in Tarlac City.

Marcos and Duterte later met with local officials and sectoral representatives led by Gov. Susan Yap at Diwa ng Tarlac here.
