THE United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) decided to suspend all political talks for 2022 elections.

UNA president and Senator Nancy Binay said due to the Covid-19 pandemic and with the surge in the Delta variant cases that could compromise public health and cripple healthcare institutions, the UNA party decided to put on hold matters concerning alliances, coalitions, and other political activities.

“Amid the atmosphere of the 2022 elections, UNA finds it cold and insensitive to put on the table any electoral agenda while our people are experiencing uncertainties in the wake of the growing Delta variant cases” Binay said.

The lady senator said politics is aggravating a public health issue and also hampering the level of response.

“For this reason, UNA has decided to suspend all talks in connection with the 2022 polls until further notice so the party can help and focus on fighting the pandemic,” she added.
