TV entertainment news never the same without Mario
IT came as a shock to many nang mabalitaan na inatake sa puso ang kilala at respetadong veteran entertainment journalist at longtime entertainment reporter ng “TV Patrol” na si Mario Duamaual nung nakaraang June 5, 2023.
A month later nung July 5 at 8:01 ay tuluyan na siyang namaalam sa ICU ng Philippine Heart Center due to fungal infection at umabot ang kumplikasyon sa kanyang lungs, liver and brain. He was 64 and would have turned 65 sa nalalapit niyang kaarawan on July 31 na hindi na niya inabutan.
Naging kaibigan namin si Mario as early as `80s nang siya’y maging entertainment writer-columnist ng Times Journal (ng ating Journal Group of Publications) and Malaya.
In 1987 ay naging bahagi siya ng primetime newscast ng ABS-CBN, ang “TV Patrol” bilang entertainment reporter at siyang nagbabalita ng mga entertainment news hindi lamang about local stars and artists, iba’t ibang kaganapan sa showbiz kundi maging sa kanyang exclusive interviews featuring local and foreign artists na bumibisita sa bansa. Naging bahagi siya ng “TV Patrol” for about 36 years since 1987.
Nahinto lamang siya sa kanyang entertainment news reporting nang siya’y ma-heart attack nung June 5 and was rushed to Philippine Heart Center.
Mario was a devoted and responsible husband sa kanyang wife (of 46 years) na si Cherie Loanzon-Dumaual, ama sa kanyang mga anak na sina Luigi, Miguel, Maxine, William and Thessa at sa kanyang mga apo na sina Sky, Alonzoe at Tali. He was so passionate pagdating sa kanyang trabaho and a good friend to almost everyone in showbiz. One of the nicest persons, well-loved and down to earth.
Wala rin itong nakaaway in his almost five decades in the industry.
Mario left a significant vacuum in the entertainment industry and TV entertainment reporting is never the same without Mario.
Paalam, kaibigang Mario Dumaual! You will be deeply missed not only by your family kundi ng iyong mga kaibigan at mga kasamahan sa industriya
